I know it’s been quiet on the blog for a bit, but I promise I am back. 2015 was a whirlwind for me between working full-time as an office manager, coordinating weddings of my own, second shooting weddings with my awesome Raleigh photographer husband, and hosting my own ridiculously big wedding, the whole year went by in a flash.
I should begin this post by letting some of my newer readers know that Ryan (my husband) and I were engaged for three and a half years before getting married. While I certainly recommend starting your wedding planning at least one year in advance, because it makes securing vendors and venues easier, I will never suggest this long of an engagement to anyone. It gave me way too much time to think, and stress, and plan, and stress, and invite people, and oh did I say stress?
Despite the years of planning and stress, I managed to put together what I like to think of as THE Wedding of the year. Ryan and I carefully selected some of the best Triangle area wedding vendors and it absolutely shows in the images and my memory of our wedding day. Everything was perfect.
Our Photographer, Kate Pope, was incredible. From the moment we met her, we knew she was the one who would capture our wedding day in the way we wanted to remember it. Plus, it was hard to deny the fate-like feeling we had when we discovered that Kate was both proposed to at Rose Hill, but also married in the same ceremony location of Rose Hill as us.
Our pastry chef, Megan Campbell, made us specialty cupcakes to fit our Fall themed wedding. She made us a 6 inch round chocolate cake, so we could have those traditional cake cutting pictures, but she also made us two different scrumptious cupcakes. They were vanilla spice cakes each with their own delicious filling and custom frosting. One had pecan pie filling and maple frosting, and the other was filled with sugary baked apples and topped with cream cheese frosting. It’s safe to say our desserts were a big hit!
Without further ado, I present the pictures of Ryan and I’s October, 24th fairytale wedding held at Rose Hill Plantation. We were so lucky to have been blessed with gorgeous weather and picked out the most breathtaking venue for everyone to enjoy.
To everyone who helped Ryan and I out with the wedding in any way, and especially to my outstanding Maid of Honor, Ashley and my Bridesmaids(lifelong besties): Thank you for putting up with me last year. I know I was a Bridezilla and I am so appreciative of all your support and assistance in making our wedding a dream come true. And a special thank you to our families, we could not have had this wedding without all of your help, we love you.
